No time for cake! A Clarksville, Tenn., bride — who happens to be a paramedic — left her wedding early on Saturday, Oct. 3, to respond to a car crash that involved her relatives.
Sarah Ray — who works at Montgomery County Emergency Medical Services — received a call about the accident two hours after saying "I do." The collision involved her grandparents and father.
"We were still at the church. [My husband] Paul and I are both paramedics and a lot of our groomsmen and bridesmaids are also. My father, grandmother, and grandfather were all riding to the reception and we all stayed behind," Ray explained to ABC News on Monday, Oct. 12.
She added: "We had stopped at accidents before and in regular clothes. It just so happened that this time, I was in a wedding dress."

Ray's father and grandmother suffered minor injuries, but she said they are doing okay. Her grandfather was not hurt.
The newlywed was photographed near the crash on the highway with her strapless white gown hiked up. She joked that the pic makes for a great memory, but, of course, she wishes that the incident never happened in the first place.
"There are a lot of people that are using the word 'hero.' I don’t think what we did was heroic," she said. "It's just anything that any first-responder would have done."
